Throw on your Duster! A classic from the 1960's, this pattern has been so fun to make. We remember our Nana was never without her duster when it came to sewing days and housework.
We practically squealed when we saw this pattern on Etsy! Instantly we knew that we had to make it. Thank you to our dear friend, sewbettyanddot, for selling us the must have 1960's pattern!!! Additional thank you's to superbuzzy for having this super cute, retro-inspired fabric. We always find the best selections from them.
Enjoying the lovely May weather, we decided to bring out our Mexican Dresses again. They have been really fun to embroider! Mutti sewed the base dresses from scratch, and we've both been embroidering them with our own, hand-drawn designs. They've become our "sew-as-we-go" project, meaning that we bring them out and work on them for a bit, we put them away, then we add more....
The front is just about finished on this one - might even wear it once or twice before setting to work on the bottom half of the dress.
They are fun and crazy. We love them because there are are no right's or wrong's; with these dresses, anything goes!
Finally!!! Our tomato plants are producing fruit. We've heard from many of our friends that tomatoes are quite difficult to grow in FL (due to bugs and humidity), but so far, we seem to be having a successful run! We're hoping to whip up a yummy tomato tart very, very soon...
P.S. If you have a Duster you wear, we'd love to hear about it!
